چکیده

Translations between models expressed in textual transition systems and those ex pressed in structured Petri net notation are presented in both directions The transla tions are structure preserving meaning that the hierarchical structure of the systems is preserved Furthermore assuming non nite state data manipulation has been abstracted out of the textual transition system then translating one model to another and then back results in a model which is identical to the original one up to renaming and the form of Boolean expressions Due to inherent di erences between the two notations however some additional information is required in order to obtain this identity The information is collected during the translation in one direction and is used in the translation back Our translation is also semantics preserving That is the original model and the translated model are bisimulation equivalent assuming non nite data abstraction Thus the translation preserves all temporal properties expressible in the logic CTL The translations are both more generally applicable and more detailed than previously considered They are shown both for individual modules with a collection of transitions and for a structured system where modules are combined in di erent ways keywords model translations Petri nets textual transition systems structure and se mantics preservation

Stochastic Analysis of CSP Specifications Using a CSP-to-Petri Net Translation Tool: CSPN

Abstract An experimental tool and approach has been developed to explore the specification and analysis of stochastic properties for concurrent systems expressed using CSP (communicating sequential processes). The approach is to translate a formal system description into the information needed to predict its behavior as a function of observable parameters. The idea uses a theory based on proven...

Dualities between Nets and Automata Induced by Schizophrenic Objects Eric Badouel and Philippe Darondeau

The so-called synthesis problem for nets, which consists in deciding whether a given graph is isomorphic to the case graph of some net, and then constructing the net, has been solved in the litterature for various types of nets, ranging from elementary nets to Petri nets. The common principle for the synthesis is the idea of regions in graphs, representing possible extensions of places in nets....

A Formal Petri Net Based Model for Antivirus Update Agent System

In this paper, a formal model for antivirus update agent system is presented based on mobile agent technology and predicate/transition Petri nets. The mobile agent system contains two mobile agents called DCA and UNA. It sends out agents to update antivirus on client computers in a network. Each agent takes on a specified responsibility. First, DCA roams through the network and check the last d...

Timed-Arc Petri Nets vs. Networks of Timed Automata

We establish mutual translations between the classes of 1safe timed-arc Petri nets (and its extension with testing arcs) and networks of timed automata (and its subclass where every clock used in the guard has to be reset). The presented translations are very tight (up to isomorphism of labelled transition systems with time). This provides a convenient characterization from the theoretical poin...

Using Interval Petri Nets and Timed Automata for Diagnosis of Discrete Event Systems (DES)

A discrete event system (DES) is a dynamic system that evolves in accordance with the abrupt occurrence, at possibly unknown irregular intervals, of physical events. Because of the special nature of these systems, different tools are currently used for their analysis, design and modeling. The main focus of this paper is the presentation of a new modeling approach of Discrete Event Systems. The ...
